Visits by the Public

*Due to limited space, we cannot provide boat transportation to the general public. It is reserved for students participating in current WMSC classes and individuals participating in research or conferences at our lab facility. To visit the island for recreational purposes, we recommend taking the public charter, Catalina Express to Two Harbors. Once on the island, you may come over to do a self-guided tour or arrange a private tour from a staff member ($5 per person with a $50 minimum).

“Saturdays at the Lab”: Summer Only (May 31 - August 30), Saturday mornings, 10 a.m.-12 noon
The Wrigley Marine Science Center holds an open house every Saturday morning during the summer for visitors who want to see the inside of a working marine lab. This two-hour tour is open to the public and begins at the waterfront of the Wrigley Marine Science Center, two miles east of Two Harbors on Catalina Island. Visitors can experience a touch tank, research exhibits, a science lecture and a tour of a hyperbaric chamber (unless the chamber is being used for treatments). Go to the Saturdays at the Lab page. For more information, call (310) 510-0811.

Individual Visits: Year Round, by appointment
The Wrigley Marine Science Center welcomes public visitors throughout the year. Visitors to the Two Harbors area are invited to call the WMSC office at (310) 510-0811 and arrange a time to stop by. Please check in at the front office upon arrival, where you will sign in and a Visitor’s Guide will be provided. Download the Visitor’s Guide here.
