Research at the USC Wrigley Institute

The USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies brings together all of the marine and environmental sciences at the University of Southern California, and its crown jewel is a unique marine lab on Catalina Island, the Philip K. Wrigley Marine Science Center. Some of our programs are entirely focused on the mainland campus of USC, some are focused on the Catalina Island marine lab, and many use both locations.

Conducting Your Research at the Wrigley Marine Science Center

The Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island supports research throughout the year. The labs are busy, particularly from May through September, and we recommend that you apply for research space at least five months in advance.

USC Transportation to Catalina Island

The USC Wrigley Institute offers daily boat transportation, Monday through Thursday, from the mainland to the USC Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island. Boat transportation is offered on Friday with a slightly different schedule and shorter turnaround time on the island. Check this transportation link for more information.
