The Wrigley Institute seeks to build upon our considerable assets to develop a robust program in Coastal Sustainability – one that enhances expertise in coastal and oceanic resources, and merges this strength with knowledge of cityscapes and watersheds. This program will require the addition of faculty in key critical areas and the forging of stronger connections among existing departments. The Wrigley Institute also seeks to construct new infrastructure to modernize and prepare the research campus for a sustainable future. This includes a Center for Environmental Understanding, a new building dedicated to education and collaboration at the Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island, and to increase the institute’s profile by more direct engagement with the public.
