The first of the GeoBiology summer programs was held in 2002 with financial support from the Agouron Institute in Pasadena, California, and its continued support has been critical to the success of the program. The Agouron Institute is a private foundation [501(c)(3)] that issues grants to research institutions and universities in selected areas of biology and chemistry. It does not accept unsolicited grant proposals.
