Testimony Services
The USC Shoah Foundation Institute provides access to its Visual History Archive, in whole or in part, to interested parties. The Institute's Visual History Archive at the University of Southern California contains nearly 52,000 video testimonies collected in 32 languages and 56 countries. More than one-hundred thousand hours of video occupy currently 135 terabytes of storage on servers at USC. Institutions connected to Internet2, or an equivalent network in the country in which they are located, may collaborate with the USC Shoah Foundation Institute to access the entire Visual History Archive.

Institutions must have 100 mbps connectivity to Internet2 within the United States or an equivalent network outside of the United States.

The Institute provides whole copies of testimony on DVD to institutions that can provide access to the copies acquired, thereby becoming a Visual History Collection site. Such institutions are schools, museums, libraries, and synagogues that utilize the testimonies for their educational purposes, and become a destination for patrons to view the acquired collection.

If you are interested in becoming a Visual History Collection site please complete and return the Collection Questionnaire (PDF).

Costs
The fee for testimony collections is $90 per testimony, plus shipping.

The duplication process of the testimony copies takes 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on the size of your order, and can only be initiated after receipt of payment

Description and/or information about services provided
The Institute provides specific clips of testimony and images for use in broadcast and publication such educational products, documentary films, exhibitions, and books.

If you are interested in acquiring specific clips of footage from the Institute, please complete and return the Footage Order Form (PDF) and Clip Reel Entry form (Excel). The Clip Entry form must be completed and submitted electronically to: vhi-acc@dornsife.usc.edu. Please see the Guidelines for the Clip Reel Entry form (PDF) for instructions.

The Institute provides copies of testimonies for interviewees or their family members on DVD and on Data DVD.

Requests for family testimony copies take approximately 4 weeks to complete. Rush service for a 1-3 week delivery is available for an additional fee of $50.00 per order.
