The Musical

Dangerous Beauty is a provocative new musical with screenplay by Jeannine Dominy, based on the New Regency/Warner Bros. motion picture of the same title and The Honest Courtesan by Margaret F. Rosenthal.

The musical was first performed in a staged reading at The Powerhouse Theater in July 2005 as part of the New York Stage and Film’s Summer Theater Season. It was also presented in a reading at the Rubicon Theater in Ventura, California in May 2005; and it was selected for the ASCAP Foundation Disney Musical Theatre Workshop in February 2004. In 2006, it was invited to the 18th Annual Festival of New Musicals, as part of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. In summer 2008, the world premiere production was staged and produced at the Northwestern University Theatre and Interpretation Center as part of the American Music Theater Project. The creative team includes the work of such renowned artists as Jeannine Dominy (Book and Verse); Amanda McBroom (Lyrics); Michele Brourman (Music); Benoit-Swan Pouffer (Choreographer); Soyon An (Costume Designer); Sheryl Kaller (Director).
