Services Offered and Fees

We believe it is important to offer therapeutic and assessment services which have been supported by research (i.e., "empirically-supported treatment and assessment").  As such, clinicians at the PSC use interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal therapy, parent training, and behavioral couple’s therapy.  See our FAQ section for more information on what therapy at our center is like.

Please note we do not provide services for individuals who are court-mandated to receive treatment or assessment.  We have a very limited number of Spanish-speaking clinicians.  Please call for current availability.

  • Individual and Couple’s Therapy for Adults

We provide a wide-range of psychotherapy services for adults.  Many of our clients come to the clinic with concerns about depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, academic or occupational difficulties, and other concerns.  Couple's treatments (dating, married, domestic partners) are also available to address such difficulties as conflict, communication difficulties, infidelity, and disagreements over topics such as money, child-rearing, and household responsibilities.

  • Child and Family Therapy

We provide treatment for children, adolescents, and their families.  Children and adolescents seen at the PSC experience a variety of emotional, behavioral, or academic difficulties.  Family therapy and individual treatment (which also typically involves parents/guardians) are available to treat these concerns.

  • Group Therapy

Caregiver support groups are also available through the the Tingstad Older Adult Counseling Center (TOACC).  We will offer more groups in the future, likely starting summer 2013, but do not offer additional groups at this time.

  • Assessment for Children and Adolescents

Comprehensive assessment for children and adolescents can help to provide a better picture of current difficulties in emotional and academic functioning.  At the PSC we evaluate for:

    • Learning Disabilities (i.e., difficulties in reading, writing, math)
    • Attention/Concentration Problems
    • Giftedness
    • Behavioral or School Problems

At this time, we do not have the assessment tools needed to evaluate autism and Asperger's spectrum referral questions.

  • Assessment for Adults

Comprehensive assessments for adults can also be useful for adults who are experiencing academic difficulties in educational environments such as college, or who wish to better understand current difficulties experienced in work or home environments.  At the PSC we evaluate for:

    • Learning Disabilities (i.e., difficulties in reading, writing, math)
    • Attention/Concentration Problems
    • Difficulties with Memory
    • Emotional or Social Problems
  • Fees for Our Services

Our standard fee for therapy is $20 per session.  The first session for all clients is $20 with no exceptions.  Our standard fee for assessments is a flat rate of $500.  We offer a sliding scale to accommodate individuals experiencing extreme financial hardship.  These rates are significantly reduced from community rates, and thus lower rates are only available in special circumstances.

You must cancel your sessions at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for missed appointments.  Please see the consent form for full details on our missed session, cancellation policy, and policies on routine lateness to sessions.
