The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures offers students the opportunity to participate in a six-week program in Moscow, capital of Russia. Students can take up to 6 units: an intensive language course and/or directed research. Classes meet Monday through Friday and excursions are planned to museums, theaters and various landmarks in Moscow, as well as trips to St. Petersburg, Suzdal (a town-museum of 14th century), and Yasnaia Poliana (Tolstoy's estate). Students will see and learn first-hand about the architecture, culture, history and art of Russia. The program ends with a five-day grand tour of St. Petersburg. Participants will have the choice of living in a well-furnished Moscow dormitory or with Russian families.
