IR 491 - Brussels, Belgium: Contemporary Issues in European Foreign and Security Policy

The Brussels study abroad program focuses on European governance and security issues in the seat of the European Commission. Students will explore how the European Union is adapting to its new role as a security provider beyond its borders in places such as the former Soviet Union, the Balkans, Sub-Saharan Africa, China and Afghanistan.

Students will be assigned an internship in an IR-related organization (ex. Royal Institute for International Relations, Institute for European Studies, EU-Russia Centre) to compliment their coursework.  This program is open to IR and IR-Related majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA and Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.

Program dates: June 1-July 3, 2015

USC Tuition:

4 unit course at $1,536.00/unit= $6144

Transportation:

Roundtrip Airfare from Los Angeles to Brussels= +/- $1300
