Sharon Luk

American Studies and Ethnicity

Sharon is from San Francisco and received B.A. degrees in Comparative Literature and Ethnic Studies from Brown University. She completed her M.A. in Education at UCLA and her M.A. in American Studies and Ethnicity at USC, where she is finishing her doctoral dissertation called "The Life of Paper: A Poetics." The life of paper refers to the role of letter correspondence in practices of social reproduction, specifically within histories of genocidal racism, mass incarceration, and human resilience in California and the West.
