Satellite Ceremony 2 / Group 2

General Information

  • The Group 2 Satellite Ceremony takes place on Cromwell Field

  • The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the procession of graduates

  • The ceremony is not ticketed

  • Guests may access Cromwell Field no earlier than 10:00 a.m.

  • Bleacher seating can accommodate roughly three (3) guest seats per graduate. Ample standing room is available

  • Guest areas are not covered

Graduate Information

  • A rehearsal will be held the week of Commencement on Wednesday, May 11 at 1:30pm on Cromwell Field. Students planning to participate in the Satellite Ceremony are strongly encouraged to attend

  • On May 13th, immediately following the main ceremony, proceed directly to Cromwell Field

  • Graduate line-up will be located behind the stage. Undergraduates will line up by major; PhD graduates and Masters graduates will line-up separately

  • Before getting into line, completely fill out a namecard found on tables in the line-up area. Keep this card with you until a staff person collects it

  • The graduate stage procession diagram is available by clicking here

  • Once all graduates have processed and are seated, the satellite ceremony will begin.  A Dean's Office representative will preside over the ceremony. Each graduate will proceed to the stage by major to have their name announced and receive their diploma cover

  • Three professional pictures will be taken, one before you receive your diploma cover, one while receiving your diploma cover and one with your diploma cover

  • After you receive your diploma all graduates must return to their seats until the conclusion of the ceremony



Group 2 Department Receptions:

Each Group 2 department in USC Dornsife hosts a reception immediately following the Group Satellite Ceremony.  Graduates in that major and their guests are invited to attend.
