Richard Vargas serves as senior associate dean for USC Dornsife Advancement, where he oversees the development and corporate and foundation relations functions for USC Dornsife. Appointed in August 2008, Vargas previously served in various development positions within USC Dornsife Advancement, the most recent being associate dean for Advancement and Major Gifts.  Prior to joining the development staff of USC Dornsife, Vargas was the director of Regional Programs for University Advancement, where he contributed to USC’s successful “Building on Excellence” fundraising campaign. Before joining the University Advancement team, he served as an associate director in the USC Office of Admissions.

An alumnus of USC, Vargas earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs. He also was a recipient of the Norman Topping Scholarship and a participant in USC Dornsife’s JEP program.
