Hanna Damasio Tapped for Honorary Degree
Dr. Hanna Damasio, University Professor, Dana Dornsife Professor of Neuroscience and Director of the Dana and David Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging Center, received an honorary doctorate from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in Barcelona on October 23, 2012.

Aubrey Rodriguez receives NRSA Award
Doctoral student Aubrey Rodriguez received a Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA award (F31) for her project titled: "Parental Military Deployment and Adolescent Mental/Behavioral Health".

Bruna Martins receives NSF Fellowship
Doctoral student Bruna Martins received an NSF Fellowship for her project entitled "Neural Mechanisms of Emotion Regulation in Older Adults"

Antonio Damasio Awarded
Dr. Antonio Damasio, University Professor and David Dornsife Chair in Neuroscience and Professor of Psychology and Neurology, received honorary doctorates from the Swiss Institute of Technology and the University of Coimbra in Fall, 2011.

Susan Geffen receives NSF grant
Doctoral student Susan Geffen received a two year Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant from the National Science Foundation for her dissertation project titled "Infants' ability to discriminate statements and questions."

APS Rising Stars
The 2011 class of APS Rising Stars includes Dr. Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, Assistant Professor of Education and Assistant Professor for Psychology at the Brain and Creativity Institute, and Dr. Thomas Denson, a USC social psychology alumnus who is now on the faculty at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
