PHED 139ab

This course is open to beginners and the more experienced players who want to develop the basic skill, and strategies necessary to better understand and enjoy the game. Offenses and defenses, court positioning, and tournament preparation are discussed and applied in class. Participation in games is a regular activity.

Catalog Description:

139a: Introduction to beginning and intermediate volleyball skills, rules, game tactics, and strategies. Emphasis on the development of: passing, setting, hitting, serving, blocking, and digging.

139b: Advanced techniques; focus on offenses and defenses used in game situations. Prerequisite: 139a.
