This course is open to beginners and the more experienced players who want to develop the basic skill, and strategies necessary to better understand and enjoy the game. Offenses and defenses, court positioning, and tournament preparation are discussed and applied in class. Participation in games is a regular activity.
140a: Fundamental instruction of basic strokes for beginners and intermediate players; rules, scoring, court etiquette, strategies; singles and doubles; practice and match play.
140b: Lob, smash, chop, slice, half volley, drop shot, and volleyed strokes; strategy in singles and doubles play; tournament play. Prerequisite: 140a.
