While the 2008 presidential election saw an unprecedented integration of community organizing and get-out-the-vote efforts, long-term movement building goals were never quite met. As a result, during this election cycle, organizers have been deliberate in working to win key campaigns and ballot initiatives but also to use November 6th as one effort in building a stronger, national movement—one that is more grassroots than any campaign could dream to be.
