With the comforts of home in tow, USC Dornsife’s newest students arrived on August 17 to move into their new campus digs with the help of family and friends. Altogether, more than 1,200 first-year and more than 600 transfer students were welcomed into the USC Dornsife Trojan Family. The following day, all first-year and transfer students gathered for a lunchtime Welcome Picnic in the Ronald Tutor Campus Center. USC Dornsife Dean Howard Gillman as well as vice deans, faculty, students and staff greeted the new Trojans, who had the opportunity to speak with academic advisers and learn about research opportunities, programs and academic organizations in USC Dornsife. They also had the chance to chat more with their fellow USC Dornsife classmates while enjoying fish tacos, sliders and hotdogs from Pink’s, the legendary Los Angeles hotdog stand.
