Microsoft Lync

Dornsife College is discontinuing the use of Novell Messenger and replacing it with Microsoft Lync. Lync is the Microsoft instant messaging (IM) and online presence application. With Lync, you can send messages and files to colleagues. You can also collaborate and hold virtual meetings. As a part of the migration to Microsoft 365, which began with the move to Microsoft Outlook, Lync will be the supported messaging client. Dornsife Technology Services has already begun rolling out Lync to its users.

Microsoft Lync is available for use on iOS, Android, and Windows phones devices. In order to use the mobile application, download the application from your device's app store, and then log into Lync with your USC username and password.

If you want to use Lync on a BlackBerry device, contact the Helpdesk for assistance.
