Originally from California’s Bay Area, Michael received his undergraduate degree in history from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2004. Afterward, he studied politics at New York University, where he received a master’s degree. His research interests are the political economy of Latin America, and applications of rational choice theory and game theory. Upon receiving his doctorate, Michael would like to pursue a career in teaching and research at the university level.
