Research description:
My research focuses on diet and feeding behaviors of lemurs (Strepsirhini, Primates). I am especially interested in how mechanical properties of food can influence dietary choice among sympatric primate populations. My current research is on dietary niche partitioning and relationships of diet to the masticatory apparatus.
I work at two different sites in Madagascar, the rainforest site of Ranomafana National Park and the dry forest of Beza Mahafaly special reserve. I began working at both sites during my dissertation work and have continued conducting research at them.
