Dr. Zhenfeng (Jay) Liu, Computational Staff Scientist

Jay is an integral part of our Moore Foundation microbial eukaryotic transcriptomics program. He brings great microbial metagenomics expertise to the group as a scientist and graduate student mentor.

Amy Koid, PhD Student

Amy Koid, PhD Student

Amy studies coastal ocean assemblages of microbial eukaryotes (protists). She is characterizing the physiological potential of unculturable marine picoeukaryotes using screened large insert libraries and metagenomic sequencing.

Johanna Holm, PhD Student

Johanna Holm, PhD Student

Johanna is studying bacteria and microbial eukaryotes associated with cold water octocorals local to southern California. She is using molecular tools, microscopy, and metagenomics to explore the coral symbionts and how they change under environmental stress.
