Linkage map

We are in the process of developing a recombinational map of the T. californicus genome using a battery of molecular markers. Initial work focused on microsatellites and AFLPs (e.g. Harrison et al. 2004, Harrison & Edmands 2006, and unpublished data). We are now focused on discovering and mapping single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) using a library of expressed sequence tags (ESTs) developed by Ron Burton and Scott Harrison.

This linkage map will be used for our studies of the genetic basis of hybrid breakdown and will also provide a resource for the growing community of researchers working with Tigriopus.
