Staples Center

In 1999 downtown LA got a big-league sports/entertainment facility, complete with the obligatory big-corporation wrapping. Staples Center is home to the hockey Kings, the basketball (loosely interpreted) Clippers, and that other basketball team. In addition, it hosts various other entertainment shows, not the least of which was the Democratic National Convention in August 2000. PHOTO: G. DeVerteuil
