Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Lecturer, Biological Sciences

The Human & Evolutionary Biology section of Biological Sciences at the University of Southern California seeks outstanding candidates to fill a lecturer position in the area of exercise physiology for the 2011-12 academic year. Responsibilities will include teaching eight undergraduate laboratory sections per semester and relevant service to the department. Laboratory sections will be assigned based on the candidate's expertise and program needs.

The Human & Evolutionary Biology section (formerly the Department of Kinesiology) has two undergraduate degree programs: a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance. Combined the two degree programs house approximately 320 majors. Courses and the associated laboratories emphasize the physiological, anatomical, biochemical and biomechanical aspects of human movement.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements for this position are an M.A. or M.S. in kinesiology, exercise science, physiology, nutrition or related field. Applicants should be familiar with standard laboratory procedures in physiology and exercise testing, and possess a strong commitment to undergraduate education and excellence in teaching.
