Kathleen Speer

Senior Associate Dean

Kathleen Speer directs the operations the College Research and the College Faculty Affairs Offices. She manages research administration activities including proposal preparation, budget development, faculty and staff training and electronic file storage. Additionally, Kathleen oversees the faculty recruitment, appointment and promotion processes. Ms. Speer in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Programs oversees the development of the class schedules for College departments and programs.

Kathleen has participated on many research administration improvement committees in her ten years at USC including Grants Management Education, SCera Portal, and the Research Compliance Committee. She is a member of USC Women in Management and has served as Secretary on the Executive Board.

Kathleen holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Arizona. She joined the College in 2005 having previously worked for the Viterbi School of Engineering as the Assistant Director in the Engineering Finance Office.
