As per the requirements of the LAUSD regulations, all JEP vounteers are supposed to have current up-to-date records of their tuberculosis test. Before JEP students can go into the schools, they must provide the original or a copy of their TB test that shows they are NEGATIVE for TB.
There are a variety of accepted proof of negative TB, such as those provided by the USC Student Health Center, the Pre-Enrollment Proof, your HMO paperwork, your Immunization Card, or a letter from your doctor on official letterhead.
The USC Student Health Center and the Registration Office does not provide your medical info to our office. You must bring in the forms yourself.
Some folks, usually international students or folks who have been abroad will test positive on the skin test. If you know you are one of those folks who test positive, please schedule a chest x-ray as soon as possible, as they may take longer to get done, and we want you to start your assignment on time.
If no proof is submitted by the start of the assignment, the student will be forbidden to participate in JEP until proper documentation is provided. No credit will be given for any time volunteered until we have the paperwork.
You can email us if you want to know the current test date deadlines.
