Jane Cody

Associate Dean for Academic Programs

Dr. Cody, in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research, oversees the development of class schedules for College departments and programs. She also directs the training of new College Teaching Assistants. In addition, she supervises the College’s undergraduate curriculum, teaching evaluations, grading and student petitions, as well as special programs, which include Supplemental Instruction, Overseas Studies, the College Advising Office and College Admissions.

Dr. Cody holds a B.A. in Classics from Randolph-Macon Women's College, an M.A. in Greek and Latin and a Ph.D. in Latin from Bryn Mawr College. Joining USC in 1968, she was an assistant and associate professor in the Department of Classics and twice chaired the department. She has been an ACLS fellow and a financial trustee on the board of directors of the American Philological Association. She has also served as chair of the Managing Committee of the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, and is currently a member of the Advisory Committee of the American Numismatic Society.
