Every year, the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences selects eight faculty members to receive the first General Education Teaching Awards for their contributions to the General Education Program during the preceding Fall through Spring academic year. Awards were given in all six categories of the program. Recipients are chosen on the basis of statistics and student comments on evaluation forms, course syllabi, and evidence of rigorous grading.
In addition, four General Education Graduate Assistant Awards are made to Assistant Lecturers who taught writing courses and Teaching Assistants who ran laboratories and led discussion sections associated with General Education classes. The graduate students are chosen based on departmental recommendation by the College.
