Friends and Neighbors Service Day

Volunteer around Los Angeles! The USC Volunteer Center's Friends and Neighbors Service Day offers students and community members an opportunity to go out into the surrounding community to help with projects like gardening at schools, dog-walking with animal shelters, reading to kids, and painting murals.
The Friends and Neighbors Service Days program is a student-run volunteer day that has been fostering partnerships between USC and the Los Angeles community. Students partner with different nonprofit organizations around Los Angeles and work on projects to enrich the surrounding community. Projects include gardening at schools, dog-walking with shelters, reading to kids, and painting murals. This program was born after the Rodney King/Los Angeles Riot in 1992 as a way to connect student volunteers with local service organizations and schools in meaningful ways. New and returning students are introduced to incredible volunteer opportunities available at agencies in the Los Angeles area.
