USC Composers Past and Present USC Thornton Wind Ensemble

H. Robert Reynolds and Sharon Lavery will lead the USC Thornton Wind Ensemble in a celebration of the Thornton School of Music’s renowned composition program, including past composers Ingolf Dahl, Robert Linn and Halsey Stevens as well as current faculty Donald Crockett and Frank Ticheli.

For generations, some of America’s leading composers have found a home at USC as members of the faculty. H. Robert Reynolds and Sharon Lavery will lead the USC Thornton Wind Ensemble in a celebration of the Thornton School of Music’s renowned composition program, including past composers Ingolf DahlRobert Linn and Halsey Stevens as well as current faculty Donald Crockett and Frank Ticheli

The concert will include a premiere for wind ensemble of Donald Crockett’s Dance Concerto with clarinetist Stefan Van Sant, Frank Ticheli’s Angels in the Architecture, Halsey Stevens’s Ukrainian Folk Songs, Ingolf Dahl’s Sinfonietta, Robert Linn’s Propagula and a new composition by Bryan Kostors, winner of the 2013 USC New Music for Wind Ensemble competition. Crockett and Ticheli will be on hand to speak about their pieces.
