A special lecture on a very timely topic presented by Laura Nader, professor of anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley. 

Description:

Laura Nader is professor of anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley.  Her current work focuses on how central dogmas are made and how they work.  Naked Science – Anthropological Inquiry into Boundaries, Power and Knowledge (1996) provides a framework for understanding power arrangements in global science.  A legal anthropologist, Dr. Nader is the author of The Life of the Law (2002) and Plunder – When the Rule of Law is Illegal (2008). Dr. Nader will be discussing her forthcoming book, Culture and Dignity: Dialogues Between the Middle East and the West (2012).
