Culture and Dignity: Dialogues Between the Middle East and the West

A special lecture on a very timely topic presented by Laura Nader, professor of anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley.

Laura Nader is professor of anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley.  Her current work focuses on how central dogmas are made and how they work.  Naked Science – Anthropological Inquiry into Boundaries, Power and Knowledge (1996) provides a framework for understanding power arrangements in global science.  A legal anthropologist, Dr. Nader is the author of The Life of the Law (2002) and Plunder – When the Rule of Law is Illegal (2008). Dr. Nader will be discussing her forthcoming book, Culture and Dignity: Dialogues Between the Middle East and the West (2012).
