Esti Iturralde

Esti — short for a difficult Basque name, "Estibaliz" — hails from New York City and received her undergraduate degree in the history of science from Harvard University in 2000. After several years in California working for a nonprofit organization devoted to youth development, she decided to extend her stay by coming to USC to work with Gayla Margolin, professor of psychology in USC College, on her research about how families cope with stress, especially violence. Esti hopes to build a research career around the themes of adolescent development, risk and resiliency factors, and life outcomes associated with emotion regulation processes.
