The faculty of the Comparative Studies in Literature and Culture program come from the departments of Classics, Comparative Literature, Critical Studies (School of Cinematic Arts), East Asian Languages and Cultures, English, French and Italian, Slavic Languages and Literatures, Spanish and Portuguese.
Our graduate students complete undergraduate degrees from schools such as Amherst College, Brown University, Tufts University, University of Bordeaux, and the University of St. Petersburg before joining our program. Their research interests range from poetry and identity, performance studies, law and literature, film theory, transnationalism, and gender studies.
Following their time at USC, our alumni are now teaching at Dartmouth College, Kenyon College, Scripps College, and Tulane University, among many institutions. They also work as editors and independent scholars. To learn more about their placements, click here.
