Biographical Sketch

Ricardo is interested in 20th and 21st century literature from the Americas. His explorations thus far include: racial construction in Latin America with a concentration on Mexico; the presentation of Africa in the literature of the United States; African-American authors’ relationship to the project of modernism; and the work of James Baldwin. Ricardo is also a writer of fiction.
