Dr. Mai’a K. Davis Cross researches issues of European integration, security, foreign policy, diplomacy, and public diplomacy. Her most recent book is "Security Integration in Europe: How Knowledge-based Networks are Transforming the European Union" (University of Michigan Press, 2011), which is the 2012 winner of the Best Book Prize from the University Association for Contemporary European Studies. She has a forthcoming edited book entitled, “European Public Diplomacy: Soft Power at Work,” and is currently working on a new book project with the working title, "The Politics of Crisis in Europe." She has also published numerous articles and book chapters. Professor Cross holds a Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University, and a bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University. In 2009, she was a Fulbright fellow as well as a visiting fellow at the EU Institute for Security Studies. She was the recipient of the 2011 USC Parents Association Steven B.
