As the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) Information Technology Architect and Project Manager for the SCEC Community Modeling Environment (SCEC/CME), I develop and perform large-scale seismic hazard calculations using high performance computing. I also develop and release open-source seismological and engineering software used in ground motion modeling and simulations. Before joining SCEC, I was a member of the Professional Staff at the Caltech Seismological Laboratory in Pasadena, California. While at Caltech, I worked on the TriNet project with researchers and software developers at Caltech and USGS to develop a state-of-the-art data acquisition and real-time earthquake monitoring system. My commercial software development experience includes firmware development for two-way mobile radios at a commercial radio manufacturer, and software design and development for Hughes Aircraft and TRW on military command and control systems and on a National Missile Defense special study.
