Biographical Sketch

Steven Childs holds a Ph.D. in political science from the School of Politics & Economics at Claremont Graduate University, with emphases in world and comparative politics. His research areas include international security, U.S. Defense and Foreign Policy, and the politics of the Middle East. His dissertation synthesized insights from the conventional arms trade literature, Power Transition Theory, and network analysis to map and measure the global security architecture. In 2008, he interned with the Security Assistance Team in the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
