Description of Research

Summary Statement of Research Interests

I am highly interested in Green Energetic Materials (GEMs). There is an ever growing demand for environmentally benign and non-toxic energetic materials for storage and controlled release of energy. GEMs are energetic materials that are virtually free of environmental hazards and toxicity issues during the course of their production, storage, use, and disposal. Our general research interests range from inorganic main group chemistry, organo fluorine chemistry, polynitrogen and polyazido compounds, all the way to energy storage and material science. We are also very interested in X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, and quantum mechanical calculations. I am highly interested in high energy materials for energy storage and the controlled release of energy. The main goal of my research is the development of environmentally benign energetic materials.
