| Dr. Jasmine Tehrani earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from USC, under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Sarnoff Mednick. She completed a two-year post doctoral fellowship in Forensic Psychology at the USC Institute of Psychiatry and Law, and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the USC Keck School of Medicine/ USC Institute of Psychiatry and Law. Dr. Tehrani is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist, and has a diverse background in the areas of forensic clinical practice, academia, and public policy. She designed and implemented a forensic program for the Board of Parole Hearings; the program utilizes evidenced based measures to conduct violence risk assessments of lifer inmates. In her forensic private practice, Dr. Tehrani has served as an expert witness and testified in both state and federal court, evaluating criminal defendants on various psychological legal issues, including competency to stand trial, dangerousness and insanity. She has also worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Twin Towers Correctional Facility, evaluating and treating severely mentally ill inmates. Dr. Tehrani has published book chapters and journal articles in the field of violence and criminal behavior, particularly the genetic and biological bases of violence and criminal behavior. She teaches an undergraduate course in Forensic Psychology and previously taught Criminal Behavior and Abnormal Psychology. Dr. Tehrani previously worked as a Federal Probation Officer. | |
