Biographical Sketch

Mary Ann Murphy's interest in language acquisition began as an undergraduate when she studied in Chambery, France. This experience motivated her to purse an MA in TESL/Applied Linguistics at UCLA, where she spent several years teaching oral skills and writing. Mary Ann currently teaches dissertation writing, as well as intermediate and advanced oral skills. She also consults for the RAND Corporation on English and American culture issues. Her areas of interest include: technology in teaching, materials development, and teacher training.
