Biographical Sketch

Jody Valentine is currently A.B.D. and completing work on her dissertation titled "The Archaeology of Parmenides" under the direction of Susan Lape and Thomas Habinek. In this project, she explores the intersection of philosophy and material culture, with a particular focus on sanctuary sites of Southern Italy in the archaic and classical periods. Her interests include archaic Greek poetry, Presocratic philosophy, and intellectual histories of the classical tradition. She is always working to develop thoughtful approaches to teaching.
