Biographical Sketch

Cam Vu graduated in 2001 from UC San Diego with an Ethnic Studies degree. Cam has served as a research assistant for Professor Yen Espiritu, and also completed the McNair research program under her guidance on a project which studied romantic love in the Vietnamese American community. At UCSD, she also coordinated activities at the Women’s Center and discussions on women’s issues for the Asian Pacific Islander Student Alliance. Cam is interested in focusing her studies on women of color and racial hierarchies in the Asian American community. She is currently working with Viet Nguyen (AMST & English), Leland Saito (AMST & Sociology), Dorinne Kondo (AMST & Anthropology) and Judith Stacey (Sociology).
