Biographical Sketch

Iva is a Lecturer and a Postdoctoral Research Associate whose research focuses on the interaction of formal and informal institutions and its implications for small and medium size businesses. Her published papers and chapters in edited volumes have examined the role of social capital and social networks in private sector growth in the context of post-communist transition. Her current research for the Southern California Innovation Project and the School of Law examines the potential linkages between the businesses' success in innovation and relative use of contractual or non-contractual relations. Iva holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Public Policy and an M.A. in Economics from USC. She earned her B.A. at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
