Biography

Chrisshonna Grant Nieva is a lecturer in the Department of American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. She received her Ph.D. in American Studies and Ethnicity from USC in 2011. Dr. Nieva’s dissertation, titled “This Is My Country: The Use of Blackness in Discourses of Racial Nativism towards Latino Immigrants,” examines the role of blackness in anti-immigrant discourses in Los Angeles.
