Summary Statement of Research Interests

Dr. Graddy's research focuses on how industry and organizational structure affect performance, with particular emphasis on the role of ownership (public, nonprofit, and for-profit), and how information asymmetry and uncertainty affect institutional design and effectiveness. These interests have led to numerous articles in academic journals that address the structure and performance of a variety of institutions and organizations, including juries and products liability outcomes, licensing boards and regulatory outcomes, and governance structures and service delivery outcomes. Her current work is focused on the structure and performance of healthcare, philanthropic, and nonprofit organizations.
