Description of Research

Summary Statement of Research Interests

Professor Edmands studies conservation and evolutionary genetics of marine populations using a combination of fieldwork, molecular genetic analyses and controlled breeding programs. Much of our current work involves using the tidepool copepod Tigriopus californicus as a model for studies of speciation genetics and evolutionary ecotoxicology. Other projects include studies of genetic structure in striped marlin and in kelp bass.
