Biographical Sketch

Jane Cody was appointed Associate Dean of Academic Programs, USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in 1994. She is also Associate Professor Emerita in the USC Department of Classics and has served as Professor in Charge and Chair of the Managing Committee of the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome. Dean Cody twice served as chair of of the Department of Classics and has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Philological Association and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Numismatic Society. Her primary scholarly interests are Roman comedy, especially the plays of Plautus, and Republican and early numismatics, especially the interpretation of the political and broader cultural meaning of the coin types issued in these periods.
