Alexander Young |
Biographical Sketch
Alex Young is a doctoral candidate whose research interests include the literature of the American West, Native American literatures, postmodern poetics, and literary theory. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Westcliffe, Colorado, before attending Columbia University where he received his B.A. in English (magna cum laude, honors in English) in 2004, and served, during his senior year, as Editor in Chief of the Columbia Review. He then worked for two years in trade publishing as an Assistant Editor at the Overlook Press in New York, and three years in high school education as an English teacher at the American School of Tangier in Morocco. He currently serves as co-chair of the Native American studies workshop at USC.
