Biographical Sketch


Araceli Esparza is a doctoral candidate in American Studies. She received a B.S. in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern California and an M.S. in Chicana/o Studies from California State University, Northridge. Her areas of interest include Chicana/o and Latina/o literature and criticism, state-sanctioned violence and its aftermath, liberation in the Americas, and the intersections of gender, race, and class. Ruth Wilson Gilmore is her advisor.
