Michael Waterman is elected a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in computational biology and bioinformatics. He was also recently awarded the China Friendship award for his contributions to the development of computational biology in China.
Two papers from Remo Rohs’ group were selected as Top-10  papers in regulatory genomics by RECOMB/ISCB

Two papers  published in Nucleid Acids Research and Molecular Cell received a RECOMB/ISCB Top-10 Paper Award for the most influential papers in 2013-2014 in the fields of regulatory and systems genomics. A recent publication of the group in Trends in Biochemical Scienceswas selected as Feature Review and Cover Article.

Using whole genome polymorphism data, Peter Ralph and Graham Coop reconstructed the European ancestry.  
Andrew Smith and Tim Daley published a Nature Method paper on sequencing

Andrew Smith and graduate student Tim Daley developed an efficient computational algorithm to decide sequencing depth for various high-throughput sequencing applications.
